Corbin #3 by BishonenHouse Corbin #3 by BishonenHouse
Corbin number 3, I'm making on 8 of these guys right now and I'm nearly done with the paint on 4 and 5.

Not a great photo,..for some reason i just haven't been able to take decent pics lately (might be the peculiar cool bright spring lighting he have had going on here for the past month)

To make my guys, I first create the original sculpt in Super Sculpey, from my original sculpture i create silicone molds and cast the parts in a custom resin mix, I then joint and drill my parts hollow and string with very heavy elastic (my figures are completely poseable) I then sand down the seams then i use ground up pastels to paint on the makeups, the wig is made of synthetic mohair and the eyes are handmade silicone.

My admiration goes to you again! You`re work is just great! I think the photo works fine.
Have fun finishing the work, any chance of a group shot when they`re done? :)

Thanks Scot :-)

Lately Ive just been taking quick snapshots of pieces before I ship them out,I think Ive gotten a bit bored with my photos because of this,..I really wish I had the extra time to do a nice set and setup some lights for some more "artistic" shots :-)
I took a group pic of the first 3 before I boxed them and shipped them (number #1 went all the way across the pond to Scotland!) I'll probably post the group pic in a couple of days, Ive been hesitant because the wig on doll #3 wasn't styled when I took the pic, and I dint even notice until after the pic was taken and the backdrop was taken down, lol ;-)

I never appreciated how much time it takes to set up a good shoot before i tried it myself, definately needs time. Still, really not a bad shot here.
Looking forward to seeing the group pic, unstyled hair and all  :D

Just fantastic! He's so handsome. They eyes are stunning. Love the veins in his arm. What do you seal the pastels with when you've finished, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you, I use Testors (model master) Lusterless flat,..I think its product number 1960, I used to use Mr Superclear but i switched over to Testors about 5 years ago. I love your work by the way (now watching) :-)

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm using Mr. Super Clear now but am having trouble with its fragility. I'll try the Testors. Does it have a UV cut?
Thanks too for your kind comment on my work and for adding me to your watch!
One of these days soon, I want to start making my own bodies too!
Fun craft isn't it!!

Testors doesn't have a UV blocker in it, I actually add my UV blocker to the resin I cast my dolls from. You're totally welcome your work is great! Be careful though, when you start making bodies it's a slippery slope ;-) ha ha. It is a fun craft indeed!

That's a great tip, thanks you... guess it's back to the shop where I get my resin! HA!... I've already slid to the bottom and keep looking for a new slope!!
