I'll be saving this as a favourite, as I may have need for someone to make molds for my dolls in the future. Your technique is very interesting. ;)

doesn't the straws melt from the heat of the setting resin?

So do u pour the resin in? how do u get rid of the bubbles?

I design my molds to release most of the bubbles throuhg vents, then I put my molds into a pressure chamber which causes the rest of the small bubbles to be crushed to a microscopic size :-)

I use the re-purposed ones that was originally designed for paint,.. mines a really big one, i think its a 15 gallon sized unit, it wasn't too bad, i think around $350

what kind of resin do u use? does it have a long working time? my problem is by the time I close the covers, the resin has set.

yea, The resin I work with has a 10min working time, you can get it with an even longer working time though,.. I use several different resins but I mostly work with smooth-on resin

Ah ok. The ones I use are about 1 min pot life. I would have to freeze it in the summer to extend pot life. I want to make my own action figures but of course not mass production just like 5 the most like high quality posable maquettes. I like how u do ur joints and stuff. Can u pose your dolls? like are the joints tight or are they loose like puppets?
